We have what we need to take on the journey toward healing. We have the loving presence of our creator. We have a healing faith that will not abandon us in our pain or in our fear. The gifts of creation found in oils, teas, and tinctures are good companions to carry along the way. Good friends and kind, healing people are invaluable. I am still learning how to walk this way. As I get older and my body keeps changing, I sometimes worry that something might be wrong with me. It’s humbling to notice the changes, and I have talked with older women friends to hear their stories.

Through talking with my friends and my kind doctor and listening to my own voice, I keep striving to maintain a healthy perspective. I continue to learn what a body that’s produced three children should experience. The healers I want walking with me are compassionate about the changes. And what seems strange or embarrassing is really kind of funny when it’s shared. I want them to see me in a holistic way that incorporates good medicine. Those are the good snake oil salesmen. They know the price they have paid to be healers and the sacrifice they have made in their offerings to fellow pilgrims.
